Twisted Cinema – E.T.

50-ETSMHello everyone, I have managed to reach week number 50, I now have just 2 more weeks to go until I reach 1 year of movie balloons. This week I have recreated another of my all time favourite films, not only is this a favourite film but it contains my all time favourite movie soundtrack, The film this week is the 1982 family sci fi movie directed by Steven Spielberg, It is E.T. the Extra terrestrial.

This movie scene has been on my list to do from the very start, I originally planned for it to look slightly different but in the end I went for the famous flying across the moon shot that everyone is familiar with. The E.T. is a design I came up with several years ago when I was doing my 365 days of balloons, The head is made from about 6 or 7 balloons in total and is a mixture of 350s, 5″ rounds and 260s, the hands are made from 160s. I did have the idea of making the bike too but I just didn’t have enough time.

It has been a bit of a whirlwind week for me this week with a Twisted Cinema photo appearing in the Guardian and the Daily Mirror running a story on me on Wednesday. Next week I am attending the Millennium balloon jam in Mol in Belgium, I am really looking forward seeing all the other balloon twisters and meeting lots of new ones.

Are you going to the Millennium Jam? send me a message if you are and I will look out for you at the event.

Anyway, have a great week everyone, see you soon.

Rob
